AI Consulting

Practical AI consulting for small and mid-sized businesses.

You do not need to be a tech company, and you do not need a Microsoft subscription. You need someone who understands how businesses run to tell you honestly where AI helps and where it does not.

The advice problem, not the technology problem.

The technology is not the hard part any more. The hard part is that almost everyone offering advice about it is selling something, and the advice is shaped accordingly. Software vendors recommend their software. Agencies recommend engagements. The result is that a great many small businesses have been told they urgently need AI, and almost none have been told specifically where, why, or what it will cost.

Our background is in business operations and process design, which is a useful place to be looking at this from. The question that matters is not which model or which tool. It is which of your processes are repetitive, rule-bound, and expensive in staff time, because that is where the return actually lives.

Sometimes the honest answer is that the highest-value change available to you is not AI at all. It might be fixing a data problem, retiring a spreadsheet, or automating something conventional. We will say so.

How it works.

Four steps, and you can stop after any of them. The roadmap is yours whether or not we implement it.

1. Discovery call

A free conversation about how the business runs, where the friction is, and what you wish were easier. No preparation required and no obligation attached.

2. Opportunity assessment

Mapping your actual processes and identifying where AI can realistically save time, reduce cost, or improve customer experience, along with where it cannot.

3. Practical roadmap

A written plan in plain language: what to use, what to do first, roughly what it costs, and what to expect. Yours to keep and execute however you like.

4. Implementation support

If you want help putting it into practice, we are available. If you would rather hand it to your own team or another vendor, the roadmap is written to make that possible.

Where it actually pays off.

The pattern across small businesses is consistent. The return shows up in administrative work that is repetitive, follows rules, and currently consumes hours of skilled staff time that could go somewhere better.

Trades and service businesses

Appointment booking, service reminders, review follow-up, and the phone traffic that pulls technicians away from billable work.

Professional services

Routine client correspondence, document summarization, and intake forms. Administrative time, not judgement work.

Construction and contracting

Faster estimate preparation, job cost tracking, and subcontractor communication, generally without replacing the software you already run.

Retail and ecommerce

Product descriptions, customer service chat, inventory forecasting, and personalized marketing at a fraction of the cost of additional headcount.

What we won't do.

We will not tell you that AI will transform your business, because for most small businesses it will not. It will remove a set of specific, tedious, identifiable tasks, and that is genuinely worth doing without being a transformation.

We will not recommend a tool because we resell it. We will not build a dependency on ourselves that you cannot exit. And we will not pretend certainty about a field moving this quickly. Where something is unproven, we will tell you it is unproven and what it would cost to find out.

Common Questions

Questions we get a lot.

Do we need to be using Microsoft products?
No. That is the most common assumption people make about us and it is wrong. Our AI consulting is deliberately tool-agnostic and works with whatever systems you already run, Microsoft or otherwise.
We are a small business without technical staff. Is that a problem?
It is the normal situation, not an obstacle. The roadmap is written in plain language and assumes no technical background. Some businesses hand it to a staff member, some ask us to implement, and some use a vendor they already work with.
Will AI replace our employees?
For most small businesses, the realistic outcome is that specific repetitive tasks stop consuming staff time, not that roles disappear. The businesses that get the most from this generally redirect the recovered hours rather than reducing headcount. If your goal is specifically headcount reduction, we would rather have that conversation directly than discover it later.
How much does an assessment cost?
The discovery call is free and carries no obligation. Assessment scope and cost depend on the size and complexity of the operation, and we will be clear about both before anything starts.
Do you work with businesses outside Denver?
Yes. We are based in Denver, Colorado, and this work is straightforward to do remotely. We work with clients across the United States and internationally.
